| Description | Our members reside in Berks County, PA and surrounding areas, and include craftsmen who practice occassionally to those who are full time professionals. We are in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country, and are known for our traditional craftsmen, but we also include members who produce contemporary works. Crafts include redware pottery, fraktur, scherensnitte (German paper cutting), block printing, wood carving and turning, furniture, metal jewelry, stained glass, lampworked glass beads, teddy beads, rug hooking, sawdust dolls, silk painting, wood graining and more. Our guild produces two craft shows a year, supports a student award program, produces a monthly local tv show, has monthly programs, donates to several local charities, and more. To maintain a high level of quality, before a member can participate in any marketing ventures his or her work must pass strict standards. Membership is open to the public. |
