Description	For many years the Artist has been infatuated with Australian Opal, its infinite variety of shades, patterns and overwhelming brilliance. Throughout this period, Simon experienced an undercurrent, a stirring genesis to create something unique, individual, and far removed from the conventional. This intrigue led to mining adventures at Andamooka in the desert of central Australia and study in the art of Opal Craftsmanship. Simon united his two passions: Australian Opal and Australian Timber. Simon's use of Australian Timbers incorporating Australian Opal is both imaginative and creative, and boldly challenges traditional and conventional jewellery. The Jewelry created is as individual as the piece of timber from which it was derived. Simon resides in a "Shack" on the waters edge of the picturesque Glenelg river situated in southern Australia. It is this tranquillity that inspires and encourages his imagination and creativity.
